Conducting research of consumer opinions and marketing strategies, collaborating with marketing and other professionals; attending staff meetings and providing management with information and proposals concerning the promotion, distribution, design and pricing of company services; monitoring industry statistics and following trends; forecasting and tracking market trends; devising and evaluating methods and procedures for collecting data; analyzing collected data; preparing reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating findings into written text; collecting and analyzing data on customer demographics, preferences and needs; providing management with information and proposals concerning promotion, distribution and design of products and services; seeking and providing information to help companies determine position in marketplace; developing, implementing and measuring effectiveness of marketing, advertising and communications programs and strategies; measuring and assessing customer satisfaction and the effectiveness of marketing, advertising and communications programs and strategies; researching market conditions at local, regional and/or national level to create effective marketing campaigns and communications strategies; performing SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis for clients.
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications, plus at least two years of experience as a Marketing Specialist, Marketing Advisor or Communications and Event Coordinator.
Must have knowledge of and experience with media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods using written, oral and visual media, for both small and large scale events; must have knowledge of and experience with fully-integrated marketing programs (strategic planning, resource allocation, vendor contracting, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people and resources); must have knowledge of and proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustration and InDesign; must have knowledge of and experience with international marketing and communications initiatives.
Travel six to eight times a year for marketing events and client meetings, most of one week or less.
