We've been so busy over here lately that we are a few weeks behind sharing some behind the scenes shots from one of our latest shoots.
Eric and Jess spent a week in NYC and NJ racing around the city from building site to building site, capturing our client, SafwayAtlantic. They do such a good job, that you barely notice just how many building sites are right under your nose until you start to take note.
With outdoor shoots every day, they relied heavily on the weather radar. A mini tornado and torrential rains made for an interesting week of shooting, that is for sure.

We partnered with newportFILM to support their 5th annual Studio 54 themed "friend-raiser". newportFILM turned Christie's Restaurant, into the ultimate 70s inspired night, and our team created an photo-ready installation for a corner of the space. Guests were invited to take photos and post them to social media for a chance to win a gift certificate to FloatRI.

If there is one thing that is a guarantee when it comes to the Textron Systems Leadership Summit, there is always some form of extreme winter. Usually its snowstorms...this time it was 70-degree weather in February. Thankful that we weren't battling the elements, we arrived and hit the ground running setting up the general session and putting the final touches on the content.
In addition to the meeting content, we have been working with Textron Systems on their new internal employee branding Together Stronger. It was exciting to see the campaign come together and launched at the leadership summit.
We always have fun working with the team at Textron Systems. Thanks for having us!

For the last several years, the leadership meeting we produce for Textron has coincided with New Years. Before the busy week, our team had a little bit of fun, “Work hard, play hard” as they say. Coincidently, our hotel was hosting a New Years Eve bash, featuring Demi Lovato & Kygo. Our team learned an important lesson that night. All you need for a great New Years Eve is: a few bottles of champagne, a balcony within eye and ear shot of the concert, and a strong wireless signal to FaceTime your friends at midnight informing them that work life is “really rough right now”.
Back to the real reason we were in Miami, Textron's Global Leadership Meeting. The many moving parts including, general sessions, Chairman's Award dinner, team building, and post communications were executed flawlessly. What's our secret? A little team effort, some fun and a lot of coffee.

We've had some holiday fun in the office with our photo backdrop - check out the pics below.

The Inventive team decided to go all out in October 2017 with some creative costumes. Gearing up for the holiday was only part of the fun, seeing that it was luckily decent enough outside to get these action-shots. Can you guess who is who?
I guess 2018 will be a tough year to follow this stellar bunch, but hey who knows - we could just pull it off.

This year, Erin and Jim attended Adobe Max in Las Vegas. The conference brings thousands of designers, developers, and business leaders together to learn new skills, discover the latest technologies, and discuss emerging trends. The labs and breakouts Erin attended, revolved around graphic design and strategy, while Jim took the video and production route. Erin and Jim returned to the office with ideas on how to re-work projects and workflows and inspiration for new designs on current projects.

With some free time between their meeting and flight in Milwaukee, Bobby and Jess checked out the Harley Davidson Museum.
A great exhibition using creative design and interactive displays, both Jess and Bobby left with some new ideas and looking into a new hobby.

Erin was able to check off a bucket list event, completing her first marathon. Erin is very involved in the local running scene of Newport, RI and was asked to take over the Run Newport Instagram account for the weekend. We were curious about Erin's strategy for the marathon, and she compiled all her thoughts into a handy chart which coincidently followed the 7 stages of grief. After we asked Erin if she would ever do another marathon, she quickly responded, "NO."
Update: Erin has verbally agreed to another marathon later in 2018

We just wrapped our shoot for the Textron How Do You Make That employee video series, featuring Arctic Cat's Snowmobile. This one was part shoot, part road trip and took our team to the north of the Midwest, Thief River Falls and St.Cloud, MN where winter was starting to show its face.
The lovely folks at Textron Specialized Vehicals and Arctic Cat showed us the ins and outs of the snowmobile production from raw materials, engine production, painting, seat making, sewing and even sticker decals.
We had some fun capturing this product and team, check out the pictures below!

For the second year in a row, we sent some of our team to the Inbound conference at the Boston Convention Center. With attendees from all around the world, it was a great chance to meet some talented people, get inspired by driven and creative industry leaders and share what we know.
The line-up of keynote and spotlight speakers was stellar and had our whole team up early to ensure we got some great seats. Special highlights for our team were Michele Obama, Brené Brown, Piera Gelardi, Billie Jean King, Andy Cohen, Issa Rae and Bozoma Saint John.
Getting inspired doesn't necessarily come solely from the stages, but when you go throughout your time at Inbound, you become immersed in an environment filled with some of the brightest and motivated business leaders from all around the world. With the 21,000+ attendees, our team couldn't avoid the feeling that we're not alone in the world of what we do. Getting to know people that spend every day grappling with the same issues that we do and learning to tackle those issues together.
Our time spent at Inbound was full of educational and entertaining content that gave us not only inspiration but motivation to innovate our practices.

March of Dimes (MOD) is a non-profit close to the hearts of our team. An organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Each year we partner with MOD on their Signature Chef event to help generate awareness and raise money to fund critical research and education opportunities.
The Signature Chef event is a delicious evening of food and wine provided by some of Rhode Island's incredible culinary talent, followed by an exciting live auction. This year Inventive created the video "They are small but mighty" that was launched at the event, to remind everyone the impact March of Dimes has on so many families.
This year the event helped raise over $137,000 to raise awareness about the hundreds of thousands of babies born prematurely or with birth defects and the money raised makes a real impact on improving babies' health.
More information on this video can be found on the Our Work page.

Melissa and Jess find themselves in Miami Beach a few times a year for meetings. For a long time heading over to Wynwood Wall's has been on the "must see" list. With some free time between meetings they finally made the trip to check out the creative and inspiring art.

There was a lot of shark talk this summer in Cape Cod, but that didn't stop Jess and her Boston Wet Sox water polo team participating in the 30th Swim For Life across the Provincetown Harbor. With 400+ swimmers participating, the fundraiser generated an estimated $225,000 for AIDS, women's health and the community.
Congratulations Jess for not only finishing, but making it across the bay without a shark bite.

When you get the opportunity to have a tour of the United Nations in New York with the Ambassador of Costa Rica and his wife, you take it!
Guest of Audie McRae from KPMG, Jess was lucky enough to see behind the scenes of the United Nations, not only observing the art and artifacts gifted from nations around the world but observing council meetings and gaining a deeper understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals.
For Jess, the highlight of this visit was standing at the podium of the General Assembly Hall.

Like most people today able to view of the lunar eclipse we were simultaneously amazed and concerned about our eyeballs burning.
Erin's dad George was ahead of the game and sent us lunar eclipse glasses well before they sold out and were only available on the black market. After much googling and testing we were convinced they were legit and headed outside to enjoy the view.
We are happy to announce that no eyeballs were damaged.
Thanks to George for sending us the glasses, our team and the teams of the neighboring businesses were thankful for your preparedness.
