Nortek is a global, diversified industrial company, which leverages its design and manufacturing capabilities to deliver industry-leading innovative air management and technology-driven solutions for lifestyle improvement at home and work.
Nortek wanted to roll-out a new HR system across each of its businesses, while effectively communicating the reason behind the change and providing comprehensive training to employees.
Nortek operates within six business segments and wanted to implement Workday, a new HR system, across each of its businesses. The company not only needed to communicate the reason for the change to HR professionals but also train them in the new program and educate other employees on what it meant to them.
To be successfully implemented, transparency and employee buy-in was essential for the project.
Inventive created communication tools for Nortek’s managers to use, which included posters, magazine articles, brochures, and employee quick-reference guides for payroll kiosks and employee desks.
Large-scale change can be tough, but Inventive helped ensured that the implementation of Workday was smooth by communicating with and educating employees through several channels.
With the new communication plan in place, employee engagement on roll-out day was high. The company successfully transitioned from 51 different payroll systems and no tangible human capital management system to one payroll system and was able to adopt the Workday system throughout the organization.
